A true partner in healthcare Your Guide
through the healthcare system
After 30 years at the bedside, I know how overwhelming the system can feel. I walk alongside you through every diagnosis every decision and every step of recovery.
You deserve more than a discharge sheet
Research shows that patients forget up to 80% of what a provider tells them during a clinical visit. This is what happens when the human brain is frightened, overwhelmed, and being asked to absorb complex medical information in a 15-minute window.
I slow down the process. I make sure you understand what you heard, what comes next, and what to watch for.

My Approach
Thirty years, thousands of patients
I have worked in emergency departments, surgical suites, intensive care units, and inpatient rehabilitation. I have been the nurse at the bedside and the manager coordinating the team. I know how the clinical system works and I know exactly where patients get lost inside it.
What I do now is take everything I learned in those 30 years and put it entirely toward serving you. Through this process, you can expect to develop skills that allow you to better communicate with your healthcare providers in the future. This translates to you and your loved ones experiencing longer, healthier, more fulfilling lives.

How I Can Help
Guide
Sometimes you need support for one specific moment: A new diagnosis you do not fully understand. Lab results that do not make sense. An appointment coming up that you want to feel prepared for.
This option gives you exactly what you need without requiring a long-term commitment.
Navigator
For patients facing a specific procedure or surgery, I walk through the entire episode of care with you. That means preparing you before the procedure so nothing comes as a surprise.
Especially valuable for adult children supporting a parent through a surgical procedure. I stay with you through recovery until you feel confident moving forward on your own.
Shepherd
For patients managing a chronic condition or a long recovery, I provide ongoing support across three to six months. We check in regularly, work through new information as it comes, and adjust as your situation changes.
It is a steady presence for as long as you need one. Available to the patient directly or to a family member coordinating care.

A patient advocate works on your behalf. My role is to help you understand what your medical team is telling you, prepare you for clinical appointments, and make sure your questions get asked and answered. I am not part of the hospital system. I work entirely for you.

I am a Registered Nurse with more than 30 years of clinical experience. I do not diagnose or prescribe. What I do is help you understand your diagnosis, your treatment options, and what to expect at every stage of your care. I translate the clinical into the practical.
-
Family members and caregivers reach out all the time, and they are just as welcome. If you are trying to help a parent, a spouse, or someone else you love navigate a diagnosis, a procedure, or an ongoing condition, I can work directly with you. I can also work with both of you together if that is what makes the most sense. Advocacy is not only for the person in the hospital bed

Your care coordinator and discharge nurse are doing important work within a system that has significant time and resource constraints. They cannot follow up with you at 9pm when you are reading your discharge paperwork and something does not add up. I can. My full attention is on you, outside of the clinical visit, for as long as you need it.

Some clients work with me for a few focused hours around a single procedure or appointment. Others need consistent support over several months while managing a chronic condition. There is no fixed formula. We figure out together what makes the most sense for your situation.
